Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Last updated: February 2025

MyFinancialBoard (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We provide financial planning tools — we are not advisors. Your data is used only to power your dashboard and calculators.

Information we collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect email, name, and password (stored securely via our authentication provider).

Profile and financial data: If you use the dashboard, you may enter income, expenses, assets, liabilities, goals, and similar details. This data is stored to show your freedom number, net worth, FIRE timeline, and other tools. We do not use it for advertising or sell it.

Usage data: We may collect how you use the site (e.g. pages visited, calculator use) to improve the product. We may use cookies or similar technology for sessions and preferences.

How we use your information

To provide and improve the service: run calculators, display your dashboard, personalize your experience, and fix issues.

To communicate: send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) and, if you opt in, product updates. We do not spam.

To comply with law: when required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Sharing and third parties

We use trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, and (if you subscribe) payment processing. They process data only to provide these services and under strict agreements.

We do not sell your personal or financial data. We do not share it with advertisers or for marketing by third parties.

Data retention and your rights

We retain your data while your account is active. You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us. If you delete your account, we will remove your profile and associated data in line with our retention policy.

If you are in the European Economic Area or certain other regions, you may have additional rights (e.g. data portability, objection, restriction). Contact us to exercise them.

Security and children

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data (encryption, secure access). No system is 100% secure; we take your privacy seriously.

Our service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected a child’s data, contact us.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
